By Wisdom Nwedene
9News Nigeria Correspondent, Shom Akor Fanen has been arrested by Policemen in Benue State.
Mr. Akor, who serves as our correspondent in Benue State was arrested while covering the ongoing protest by pensioners in the state.
As at the time of filing this report, his phone number has been switched off.
Recall that the Pensioners in Benue State, under the aegis of Concerned Pensioners, on Wednesday occupied the state’s Government House in Makurdi, disrupting free flow of movement.
The pensioners had, last week, vowed to protest the non-payment of their pension allowances and gratuities running to N28bn.
The protesters carried placards with various inscriptions some which read,
‘Ortom, pay us our 25 months pension arrears and gratuity, enough is enough,’
‘Governor Ortom has been out of Benue State for three weeks in the USA and Japan, what for?’
