The minister of Niger Delta Affairs God’swill Akpabio has arrived Oporoza, headquarters of Gbaramatu kingdom to plead with former militant leader Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias TOMPOLO over the seven days ultimatum given to the federal government to install a substantive board for the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC
The minister was received by the deputy governor of Delta State Kingsley Otuaro and a Gbaramatu Chief Dennis Otuaro, as well as senior military officers.
The minister is expected to meet with TOMPOLO to discuss the ultimatum as militant groups in the region have threatened to resume hostilities should the Federal government fail to sack the interim board as well as the Niger Delta Affairs minister.
While the ex-militant, Government Ekpumupolo issued the threat last weekend, Isoko Youths Assembly – IYA still in Delta State did same this week demanding for the reconstitution of NDDC with immediate effect
