Manchester United’s new boy, Alexis Sanchez, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison after he admitted defrauding the tax authorities in Spain.
Sanchez was accused of defrauding the treasury of €1million between 2012 and 2013 while he was at Barcelona.
The 29-year-old apparently hid image rights money from the authorities back in 2012/2013.
He has now agreed to pay the money he owes with interest and he will not face jail, unless he commits any other offences in the next two years.
Due to Sanchez being a first offender and the sentence being less than two years, he has escaped a custodial sentence.
