Following his recent appointment as Nigerian president, Bola Tinubu, Ambassador Desmond Akawor has resigned as chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State.
President Tinubu had appointed Ambassador Akawor as a commissioner of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to represent Rivers State.
As chairman of PDP, Ambassador Akawor also doubled as the Sole Administrator of the Greater Port Harcourt Development Authority.
