The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos State has dismissed the appeal filed by Ifeanyichukwu Odi of the Peoples Democratic Party against Governor Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru of Ebonyi State.
According to report, thelearne Judges of the Court of Appeal unanimously affirmed the decision of the trial tribunal which confirmed the election of Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru as the governor of Ebonyi State.
The Court held that the issue of membership of a political party is a domestic affairs of the political party concerned hence, not justiciable.
The Court of Appeal held that the tribunal lacked jurisdiction to entertain the question of membership, nomination and sponsorship of a candidate to election same being a pre-election matter.
