BREAKING: Army finally rescued abducted NDA military officer

Major CL Datong, who was abducted by bandits on August 24, 2021 at the premises of Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna has been recued by Nigeria Army.

Deputy Director Army Public Relations 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Colonel Ezindu Idimah disclosed this late last night Friday 17, September 2021.

Datong has been in the den of the bandits for 25 days.

The Army Spokesperson said the operations leading to his rescue led to the destruction of several identified bandits’ camps in Afaka- Birnin Gwari areas of the state.

He said scores of bandits were killed during the operation, particularly, in the late hours of September 17, 2021.

The rescue mission which was in conjunction with the Air Task Force, Department of State Services and other security agencies, immediately swung into action in the Afaka area as directed by the Chief of Army Staff, 9NEWS NIGERIA reports.
