Details have now emerged on how Bukka Hut founder, Laolu Martins died in Lagos today, 9news Nigeria reports.
Wealthy and common Lagosians alike know Laolu Martins’ luxury eatery Bukka Hut as a one-stop shop for delicious meals. It is safe to say that Bukka Hut comes in second place behind The Place among the city’s leading culinary establishments, with locations in the majority of its affluent neighborhoods.
The death of Laolu hit many as a rude shock but narrating the ugly incident to 9news Nigeria, a family source revealed that he has been battling with mental health issues for some time now.
A statement released by the deceased family, did not delve into the cause of his death but pleaded for support for his “wife, children, aged mother and father and his siblings at this difficult time”.
According to the source who preferred to remain anonymous, Laolu Martins committed suicide at about 3am on Tuesday morning at his house in Lekki, Lagos.

“Our kind request is that you support the family – wife, children, aged mother and father and his siblings with your prayers at this difficult time.
