BREAKING: Council Chairman Bans Tricycle (Keke NAPEP) Over Security Threats In Ikwerre LGA, Rivers State

The Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Engr Dr Samuel Osorochi Nwanosike has declared a ban on tricycles, popularly known as keke Napep operations within the local government with immediate effect.

While speaking to Newsmen, Dr. Samuel disclosed that the ban on the operations of Keke Napep is to sequel the security reports received from the security agents in the local government.

He said this ban is across the communities of the Ikwerre Local Government and adjures all the security agents within the LGA to apprehend and prosecute any defaulters according to the law.

It’s recalled that a few months ago Dr Nwanosike also placed a ban on motorcycles known as Okada in the LGA within an hour of 7 pm to 6 am as a means of curtailing widespread Cult activities from the neighborhood local government area of the state and the act recorded huge success.

Dr. Samuel Nwanosike said this ban is not targeted at anybody or intended to cause hardship to the families of the operators and members of the general public, who make use of the services but intend to keep the local government safe and secure for everyone.
