Justice Taiwo Taiwo of a Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday dismissed a suit seeking the removal of Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State.

The court held that defection to another political party was not stated as one of the grounds for the removal of either a governor or his deputy

It also held that court has no constitutional power to declare seat of governor or deptuy vacant on the purpose of defection
