Court of Appeal, Abuja Division has dismissed an appeal brought before it by the Edo State House of Assembly in the impeachment Case against Comrade Philip Shaibu
The Court of Appeal said Shaibu remains the Deputy Governor.
The Court of Appeal further reiterated that Shaibu remains the Deputy Governor and warned any other person parading himself either by himself, privys or servants to stop or face the legal consequences.
9News Nigeria recalls the Edo State government and the House of Assembly had appealed the judgement of the Federal High Court, Abuja, which set aside the impeachment of the state’s former deputy governor, Philip Shaibu.
It was gathered that they also filed for a stay of execution on the judgement pending appeal.
Also recall that a Federal High Court in Abuja had nullified the impeachment of Shaibu as deputy governor of the state.
Justice James Omotosho, in his judgment, held that the process adopted by the state assembly in the impeachment was illegal and in gross violation of the constitution.
