The Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt Division started today Monday 08/07/2924 during its proceeding.
The 27th Lawmakers, which is led by the Pro-wike speaker, Rt Hon Martins Amaewhule, raised a motion during their seating and pronounced that since the state Governor is not ready to conduct local government election, they support a tenure elongation for the council’s chairman which their tenure will elapse on the 17 June 2024.
The Immediate past Council chairmen dragged the Rivers State Governor to court, challenging that they support tenure elongation that was decided by the pro-wike lawmakers.
Today the Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt Division Struck out the appeal on the following matters for lack of merit.
