Edo State Government announces that they can’t host the National Sports Festival slated for January 3rd —17th
This was due to non consultation on the Edo State Govt by the Sports Ministry and Presidential Task Force on Covid19, before fixing the event on January 3rd, from the initial date December 3rd, which has lead to a rancor amongst athletes.
Reacting to this, the deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu said, “We were never consulted in fixing the new date, it was a decision from top to bottom and they were quite insensitive to the feelings of the athletes and officials,” said Shaibu.”
