Breaking: Federal Ministry Of Agriculture To Release Fertilizer Worth Of 2.15Million Bags To Farmers

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture will release Fertilizer worth of 2.15Million bags to Farmers across the states in Nigeria.

This is Inline with the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN approval to allocates 2.15 million bags of fertilizer worth 100 billion naira to the Ministry of Agriculture for onward distribution to farmers.

Meanwhile, this is in line with President Bola Tinubu’s directive to release 225,000 metric tonnes of fertilizer to farmers.

Speaking with Newsmen in Owerri, the State Ministry of Agriculture is yet to confirm the disbursement for onward despatch to famers.

Also, if 2.15 million bags worth 100billion then it means a bag is about N50,000 naira. This is far much for a farm input like fertilizer. How will the farmers survive this? A known Nigerian farmer from the Kebbi state Nigeria frowned.

Nigerian farmers are poised to grab the farm inputs especially fertilizer from the state ministries and local government areas but at the time of filling this report by our correspondent, no such information has gone to aforementioned.

It is also expected of government to equip farmers with necessary farm inputs as an encouragement to revolutionize Agro economy.

Also, there has to be serious check to make sure the dispatchment is done properly otherwise some disgruntled officials could divert the fertilizer for selfish enrichment.
