It is true that the campaign for the Federal Government and the IGP to disband SARS has yielded listening ear to douse the tension caused by ailling officers who use their position as law enforcement officers to maltreat, threaten, abuse and intimidate Nigerian people in the name of discharging their official duties.

But there are a whole lot of unclarities as regard its benefits to the country since this new nomenclature SWAT is trending in place of SARS.

Nigerians are likening it to the similar change of NEPA to PHCN and so on that never gave the country and good till date.

It is therefore the wish of patriotic Nigerians to see this development improve the country and to make its citizens smile.

Meanwhile, Aisha Yesufu he had earlier asked if it Nigeria can have body cam for every police man or woman who is given a gun to enable the smooth end of Sars and end Police Brutality in Nigeria?

In her words “while some are jostling for who is there or not I am having to pursue the youth organising in Abuja to attend media engagement. They are focused on what they are doing and not interested in who takes the glory. I had a talk with them earlier on importance of media engagement”

She however stated that the panel set in place must have honest conversations from all sides. And it must be broadcast LIVE.This is how we start to heal”

Besides, below are some corroborated interviews from concerned citizens;

Comrade Samy insists that the government has lied to say that some police men in Abuja have bodycams.

He frowned at this statement and revealed that he has been in Abuja since year 2000. Never seen a policeman with bodycam”

Another protester advocate Dr Esan dolled out five (5) SHORT TERM PRACTICAL DIRECTIVES to make things workout in this reformation process of the police force.

  1. Right to record all Police interactions.
  2. No checking of devices without warrant.
  3. Police without identification is a criminal.

4.Clear fines and punishment for rule violations, brutality and harrassment.

  1. No live bullets during protests.

When contacted, mr Okechukwu, a civil rights activist had supported the above suggestions and added that FG should first of all raise the salary of the police officers and give them a better welfare package.He suggested that the widows who their husbands died in active service should not be evicted out of the barracks (both military and police barracks).
