In a video circulating on line,where unknown gunmen said to be from the Sankera axis of the state threatened the governor of Benue State,His Excellency Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia.
The Gunmen who spoke in “Tiv” Language Claimed the Governor of Benue State had an agreement with them during campaigns but dump them when he won election in 2023 to become the governor of Benue State.
The Gunmen stated,that his Excellency had a negotiation with “Okonyo” a known bandit in the area that if he wins as a governor all will leave the bushes and return home,According to the bandits,the governor failed by not keeping to his promise.
9News Nigeria gathered that, Sankera border’s wukari in Taraba state,where several heinous crime of rubbery and murder has been taken place;Leaving a lot, homeless, displaced in the IDPs camp.
From the story, a lot of stakeholders from the axis reacts; saying “Sankera ‘ must be liberated.Prominet amoungst them were Hon.Jonathan Agbidye {House Of Assembly Member representing Katsina-Ala} who provided a platform to air out his view and even Knelt down begging “Sankera” to allow peace rain,Agbidye made the appeal during a meeting of the “Shitile” extraction of the axis.
As at the time of filling this report,His Excellency Rev.Fr Hyacinth Alia was yet to react to the said video or any of his official’s.
The several attacks of this unknown gunmen has since destroyed several markets, business, farming activities there by causing havoc to the economic activities of the area.
