Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state has opened up a serious discussions with heads of the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) aimed at putting smiles on the faces of Imo state workers and Pensioners to end delays in salaries issues.
Information gathered by 9News Nigeria (Owerri) revealed that the civil service reforms were needful so as to create the required partnership between the State Government and the Civil servants, which will in turn engineer a win-win situation and also create value for money for the Government through the services of the Imo workers.
To this end, H/E Uzodinma has met with the heads of the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as well as appointees of the State Government in order to finalise on the issue of the salaries of some civil servants and pensioners in the State.
The governor assured that the meeting afforded them the opportunity to match the Government’s record of all paid workers/pensioners and unpaid workers/pensioners with the data from the MDAs.
In his words, “As a Government, we have done our bit to have a more meaningful and realistic payroll, as the purse of the Government was bleeding due to Ghost workers, manipulation of the payment schedules and fraudulent entries in payrolls”
Imo workers will surely smile again, he concludes.
