With this rapid development, the maritime infrastructure will deliver on the promised economic benefits of the first deep seaport in Nigeria.
Lekki Deep Seaport begins operations Friday, 16 September 2022, to kickstart the dry-run phase while full-scale operations start year ending, 9News Nigeria reports.
Landlocked countries such as Mali, Chad, Niger Republic have shown interest in hurling their cargoes through Nigeria ports.
China Harbour Engineering LFZ Enterprise and the project manager, Louis Berger WSP have put into ensuring that the twin objectives to complete construction and start port operations by the end of the year is realized.
Recall that on the 5-09-2022 Lekki Port again received the second batch of shipments few weeks the first shipment was delivered.
The 2nd shipment comprised of two ship-to-shore cranes with 115 packages of accessories, and five Rubber-Tyre-Gantry cranes with 270 packages of accessories from Shanghai, China on the Zhen Hua 35 vessel.
The Management of Lekki Port held a technical meeting few weeks ago to facilitate this gesture and those present are:
