Debunks the purported endorsement of Uju Osude for state secretary of PDP Anambra State.

The Peoples Democratic Party Aguata local government on Sunday, April 4th held an expanded exco and stakeholders meeting. The meeting provided a forum to update the members and generally review the activities of the party in the local government area.

The meeting reviewed among other critical issues the purported Anambra south Zonal meeting supposedly held on Friday 2nd April at Nnewi wherein the local government was portrayed as having endorsed or adopted a particular candidate for the position of state secretary.
The members frowned at the blatant impersonation and deceit by people masquerading as officers and executives of the party from Aguata.

After extensive deliberations and expression of outrage and disgust by members over the false and nonexistent adoption of Mrs. Uju Osude as the census candidate for the position of the STATE SECRETARY from Aguata. It, therefore, is resolved as follows;

  1. That Mrs. Uju Osude was never adopted as a consensus Aguata Candidate for state Secretary.
  2. That Aguata Local Government was not privy to nor informed of any meeting at Nnewi on the 2nd of April 2022 as such the issue of endorsement of Mrs. Uju Osude is a preposterous and blatant falsehood.
  3. That the party in Aguata Local Government places a high premium on the activities of their members and their contributions to the growth of the party in the area. Emanating from such considerations, Mrs. Uju Osude was found Ill qualified to vie for or to represent Aguata having worked openly with her husband Jude Osude for APC in the last gubernatorial election (pictorial evidence abound to that effect ). Mrs. Uju Osude stands disqualified and will not receive the support of the party for the position of State Secretary.
  4. That after careful deliberations and considering the zoning culture in the Local Government wherein the chairmanship position was zoned to Aguata II, it was unanimously agreed to zone the state officer position to Aguata I and to adopt CHIEF TONY OFFIAH as the consensus candidate of Aguata local government for the position of STATE SECRETARY PDP Anambra state. According to the PDP Aguata Executives, the decision is to endorse Chief Tony offiah as the consensus candidate was to fulfill its promise to the state leadership of the party which is to present their best for the position of state Secretary since it was micro zoned to Aguata.

Chief Tony Offiah is a faithful party man who has shown dedication and commitment to the party, in the 2017 gubernatorial election, he was one of the top PDP campaign leaders in Aguata and Anambra south, in 2019,/he was the director of support groups for Atiku/Obi campaign Anambra state and in the last election, he was the director of finance for PDP/VCO campaign council.
Also, he has been one of the strongest stakeholders of the party who has been financing party activities in the local government and he worked assiduously in the last election to ensure the victory of PDP in the last election.

  1. The meeting noted with joy the declaration of the leader of the party in Anambra state Mr. Peter Obi to vie for the office of President in the 2023 general election. The party resolved to work tirelessly to win the local government for the party in the 2023 general Election.
