After a long battle for Presidency of the Senate of the 9th National Assembly, Senator Ahmed Lawan of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has emerged winner and sworn-in as President of the senate.
In an open-secret ballot voting today at the senate chambers, Lawan defeated Senator Ali Ndume, the adopted candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with 79 votes to 28 votes.
