Report reaching 9News Nigeria this evening has it that a gang of unknown gunmen waylaid a bullion van carrying cash to one of the popular banks in Ebonyi state.

The gunmen who were armed to the teeth had intercepted the bullion van at Ezzamgbo junction in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi state and straight away opened fire killing 4 escort policemen that were accompanying the vehicle on the spot. Two other persons were reportedly injured at the scene following shooting by the gunmen.

It was not clear yet at the time of this report whether the gunmen were able to cart away any cash from the bullion van before bidding for their escape.
