Measures are put in place to enable students pay school fees in instalments following the face of the current economic situation in the country as reported by 9News Nigeria.

This measure is expected to be immediately absorbed by Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education across the country to help students who cannot afford the wholesome payment of school fees.

This can also help parents and guardians of such Nigerian students to ease some stress posed on them anytime payment of school fees is announced.

However, students cannot relent to pay their school fees before graduation otherwise will not be allowed to either pass out of write final examinations.

Meanwhile, the hike in fees is not limited to a certain University or a particular state because many Federal Universities have done the same increment including Federal Government Colleges which increased school fees from N45, 000 to N100, 000.

For instance, University of Lagos State, UNILAG, recently increased tuition fees payable by New Students from N19,000 to N190,250.

The prestigious Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri Imo state among other higher Federal institutions have also added an increase on school fees.

Among the measures are that students can now pay school fees in instalments, however, the second and final payment must be done before the end of the course registration for the second semester.

This measure is not against the recent policy of Federal Government to give students free interest loan and working out modalities to introduce an operational students bank to implement such directives.

The management of University of Lagos UNILAG announced the following measures while urging both current and news students to take note.

The work-study program has been re-vitalised so students can get higher remuneration. Students interested in this should kindly visit the Dean of Students Affairs office of UNILAG.

Students can now access scholarship opportunities, kindly visit the DSA office for more information.

Assistance for indigent students, this can be accessed in the DSA office. This is for indigent students.

Triple A project: Measures have been put in place for alumni and well-meaning Nigerians to adopt-a-student under the Triple A Adopt an Akotie” project.

The University has deployed the “Pay for Mentors Projects” for smart students.

Partnership with the Lagos Bus Rapid Transport System to facilitate ease of transportation. The Management has secured approval from Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA, for additional BRT dedicated routes to convey passengers from Berger Bus Stop axis and Oshidi/Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos State respectively, as gathered by our correspodent.
