Transport minister, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has assured NIGERIANS of government resolve to restore the RAILWAYS.

This he said on a ground Breaking Ceremony of the Eastern Narrow Gauge Railway Project, Bonny Deep Seaport And Railway Industrial Park In Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The minister maintained that the entire South East Will Be Connected To The Narrow Guage Rail From PH – Maiduguri With A Deep Seaport In Bonny

Also while fielding answers to the press, he futher hinted that the PH Deep Sea/ Railway Project is expected To generate 10K Jobs during constructing & 5K permanent jobs when operational.

He made it clear without doubts that the Port- Harcourt / Maiduguri Rail Will run at 60-80km per hour for Freight and 80-100km For passengers.
