Imo Governor, Hope Uzodinma has presented official vehicles to the Chairman Ndi Eze Imo, the Chairman Ndi Eze in Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe zones as well as Chairmen Ndi Eze in the 27 Local Government Areas of the State.
The presentation took place Thursday 8-12-2022 at government house chapel arena in Owerri Imo state Nigeria were the state traditional rulers Council turned out en-masse to recieve the car gifts from governor Uzodinma, 9News Nigeria reports.
While presenting the cars, the governor acknowledged the contributions of the Traditional Rulers in the development of the State especially as they support Government initiatives while ensuring the sustenance of peace in their various communities.
His Excellency reiterated the need to transform the State beyond infrastructural development by supporting institutions and custodians of our tradition.
Accordingly, he handed over the vehicles as an encouragement from the Government to support the Traditional Rulers in the discharge of their duties.
This is coming at a critical moment when christmas celebration is around having increased the cost of living in Owerri and food stuff in Imo markets.
Imolites are therefore calling on the governor to as a matter of importance pay Imo civil servants and government officers and aides their December salary and allowance to put smiles on the masses.
The car gifts to Chairmen of traditional rulers across the twenty seven local government areas in Imo state is commendable.
