Manchester United have confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo have suffered ‘significant knee ligament damage’.
Rojo was forced off on a stretcher in the first half of United’s victory over Anderlecht in the Europa League last Thursday, while Ibrahimovic landed awkwardly on his right knee after an aerial challenge in the second half.
United have refused to put a timescale on the recovery of either player, but it’s unlikely that the pair will be available for the remainder of the season.
United have confirmed that Ibrahimovic and Rojo will now be referred to knee specialists.
