Peace is gradually returning to Sankera axis Benue State as more more bandits sue for peace withdraws from Banditary, killings kidnapping activities.
Sankera a constituency from the Benue North-East senatorial district; over the years the Axis has withness a lot of killings and kidnapping unabated.
Greatly,a Non- kinetic approach of curbing the menace have been adopted and is yielding so far, positive results chaired by the Catholic Bishop of Katsina-Ala axis, Bishop Isaac Dugu.
9News Nigeria gathered that,on the Wednesday 18,2024 a peaceful meeting was help in Torov,Chito,Azendeshi ward, Ukum in Sankera the meeting has also Traditional Rulers,Sons and Daughters of the area who were Bandits and kidnappers Popular among them were:Terhemen Mzaga with his boys,Mathew Mson Dagbera,Terver Mchinan aka Angbaye.Chen another popular hit man in the area was also expected in the meeting but didn’t turn up but send his boys identified simply as “Kpoga and Kwaghlaade Fagi.
The Meeting was successful as both camps accept to shealt their swords and allow peace to rain.
“Another meeting was help in “Yooyo ward, Katsina-Ala-Sankera where another gang of kidnappers headed by Ushahemba Terzungwe Ubena (Lighter) also surrender with his boys before a Catholic priest,Rev.Fr Michael Mchia and their Traditional rulers puting an end to their heinous acts.
“Greatly different camps have been coming out recently as to confess, apologize and asked their people for forgiveness,the “bomb” of it all was on Monday 23,2024 when Mbajir,KatsinaAla in Sankera also held a meeting; A known Bandit in the area,Mr Anyongor Tamen was also in attendance pledging total peace in the area.
As at the time of filling this report another peace reconciliation meeting is ongoing in Ugba the headquarters of Logo Local government area of Sankera.Indeed is a great turn around for the people of Sankera in Benue state.
