A few days prior, Ayo Fayose, the former Governor of Ekiti State, alleged that Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, received fifty billion naira from the President concerning the explosion in Ibadan last year, 2024.
Yesterday, as reports indicate, Governor Makinde of Oyo State responded to these assertions by requesting that Fayose substantiate his claim with evidence of such a financial transaction from the federal government.
Subsequently, Ayo Fayose released the memorandum associated with the payment.
Furthermore, it was disclosed that only N4.5 billion was allocated to the victims of the Ibadan explosion; allegations suggest that this sum was diverted and that the remaining funds are being retained by Makinde for his presidential aspirations in 2027.
