Bride cancels wedding in Jos, over groom’s refusal to leave family house

In a controversial circumstances that surrounded the anticipated wedding ceremony scheduled for Saturday, May 4th, 2024, in Farin Lamba, Vom, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, was cancelled prior to the date of the event, reasons that the groom to be was unable to provide an apartment.

Florence Friday, the bride -to-be, requested N30,000 from her groom-to-be, Morgak James, on March 28, to book for her wedding gown.

Morgak, unable to provide the full amount, offered N15,000 with a promise to complete balance at the end of the week.

Florence, in anger, insisted on receiving the full amount before the end of the week, threatening to call of the wedding otherwise.

Two days later, Morgak managed to gather the N30,000 and sent it to Florence to proceed with the booking.

However, this resolution led to another condition from the bride-to-be, who requested Morgak to move out of his family house and get his own apartment.

After a lengthy debate, they agreed to live in the family house for two months based on the condition that after the wedding he will provide an apartment.

This agreement was reach before Morgak proceeded with the Introduction, Church Signing, and Paying the Bride Price. But the bride-to-be was shocked prior to the agreed date, as received wedding a call that the ceremony has been suspended by the bride-to-be, reasons, that the groom to be could not move out of his family house.

With this, Morgak was devasted, confused, as he was ‘blind’ not to notice the red flags earlier.

AƧcording to source, Morgak had invested both financially, spiritually and otherwise in anticipation of the wedding day.

Despite the circumstances, Florence’s family had earlier cancelled their Introduction dates more than 3 times due to various reasons.

A source also revealed that her family had once cancelled their Introduction a date before the wedding.

Florence (bride-to-be) said:

“I’ve never seen men who would bring his bride into his family house for his parents to take care of or claimed he doesn’t have money while planning his wedding”
