President Buhari commenced his one day visit cum touring from Imo Airport to Orlu via Nkume to Banana Junction to Amaraku and finally got to the House of Assembly complex which was reconstructed and equipped by Governor Hope Uzodinma’s led adminstration.
President Muhammadu Buhari has on Tuesday 13th September, 2022 inaugurated for use, the 37km Owerri to Orlu dual carriage way in Imo State amidst tight security.
The Owerri-Orlu road was in terrible shape before Hope Uzodinma was sworn in as Governor of Imo State on January 14, 2020.
He awarded the contract for the reconstruction and dualization of the road to Craneburg – a world class construction company that has today, delivered a solid road project and the first of its kind in Imo since 1999.
Owerri-Orlu road is a very important economic road that cuts across 6 Local Government Areas of the State and the resolve of the Uzodinma-led administration to give it a lasting facelift alongside Owerri-Okigwe road, is a very strategic one, given that it connects two major economic towns of the State aimed to foster trade and movement of agricultural produce from the hinterlands to urban centers.
The joy of Imo people knows no bounds as to the current state of the road, its drains, markings and lightening, as they illuminate hope for better economic fortunes and prosperity.
Mr. President once again poured econmuims on the type of leadership Gov. Uzodinma has provided for Imo people and his gallantry strides in the area of infrastructural development, where he shares similar vision with Uzodinma.
However, His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma inviting President Muhammadu Buhari to Imo State the second time in one year to commission the first phase of the 56Km Okigwe-Owerri Road, 36Km Orlu-Owerri Road and the reconstructed Imo state house of assembly complex.
In a related development, Imo Traders shutdown business activities as a mark of respect, honor and appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari and to ensure easy flow of the Presidential convoy.
It is clear to note that Hope Uzodimma inviting President Muhammadu Buhari to Imo State the second time in one year to commission the first phase of the 56Km Okigwe-Owerri Road, 36Km Orlu-Owerri Road and the reconstructed Imo state house of assembly complex.
His touring commenced from Imo Airport to Orlu via Nkume to Banana Junction to Amaraku to House of Assembly.While at Imo State House of Assembly, Buhari applauded Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma for such a rivival project rebuilt and furnished by Uzodinma led adminstration.
Supprisingly, the state was scanty, party lovers and stakeholders where no where to be found maybe their turn out was affected by the IPOB sit-at-home order and possibly the high level of Insecurity in the land.
But before his departure, stakeholders of All Progressives Congress APC party in Imo state and their counterparts across the states stormed Imo state government House for a town hall meeting.
