Political stakeholders in Imo State said they have concluded on their choice of candidates for the upcoming 2027 Governorship selection in the person of Dr Chima Amadi and Engr Dr Emeka Udokporo, both from Owerri Zone, as authoritatively captured by 9News Nigeria.
Accordingly, this singular but strong move was targeted to synchronize the Imo State Charter of Equity which was duly signed into law by His Excellency, Governor Hope Odidika Uzodinma CON during his second term pre -election activities cum electioneering. Governor Uzodinma will instill his name in gold at the application of this agreement and Ndi Imo will smile.
On this therefore stakeholders are urging Imolites to choose from both qualified candidates from Owerri West and Ngor Okpala respectively. The choice is far from political affiliation but personality status.
In the Charter, it was unanimously agreed by Imo state elders council and political stakeholders that Governor Hope Uzodinma will for the sake of equity and support for his second term bid hand over Power to Owerri zone by 2027.
The baton of leadership is therefore expected to be given to the Owerri Zone for their patience and resilience in support of the administration of the State. Owerri zone since the creation of Imo state has not Featured beyond eighteen months as the elected Governor of the state while Orlu and Okigwe have taken their do turns accordingly.
In the real sense of politics, Owerri zone will transfer the Imo state Governorship seat to the Okigwe zone at the time of expiration of tenure as agreed upon. And by so doing Orlu will be warming up for their next turn of Governorship after Okigwe zone must have featured as our political correspondent reports.
Unarguably, Deputy governor’s slot will be seat zoned to Orlu zone and Okigwe zone respectively. This is because there is an agreeable turns of Guber dominance gazetted in the Charter agreement.
Engr. Emeka Leaonard Udokporo, PhD, is a respected illustrious son of Imo state Nigeria and hails from the Owerri Zone extraction.
