CHEC construction company in charge of Naze/Nekede/Ihiagwa/Obinze road in Owerri Imo state have been confirmed absent from the worksite few days after the commencement of work leaving only one dredging tanker along the road. This has attracted a lot of mixed feelings and thunderous reactions among the political class, religious, traditional, social and elite camps whose interest is to witness a good work done as promised by the Rebuild Imo government ably peddled by His Excellency, Governor Emeka Ihedioha.
9News crew visited the worksite to confirm the actual position of workdone by CHEC but still met the road in critical condition.
Speaking with the press, a surveyor who pleaded anonymity hinted that the Chinese company decided to take a leave to keep the busy road on hold pending the siesure of rain to enable them control the mudu and understudy the terrain for the next stage of work.
Eye witnesses lamented bitterly on the bad condition of this road after the palliative measures put in place to check the erosion failed and continued to destroy many vehicles and business life in the area. They however expressed hope that governor Ihedioha will do wonderfully better than the former governor Okorocha who they said handed over a whole lots of unfinished works and quark projects to his successor.
Imolites have therefore call on CHEC company to go back to site immediately and do a solid work as expected and beacon on governor Ihedioha to concentrate majorly on fixing Imo roads on good and solid track as he promised them.
