Chidinma Ekile, the singing sensation we like to simply call Chidinma, is back in the news. And this time, the reports are not focused on her deleting pictures from her Instagram account but about what we know her to do best – music.
Once it finally became clear she was bent on moving on from Capital Hills, the record label owned by talented rap act, IllBliss and video director, Clarence Peters, earlier this year, everyone had been wondering where Chidinma would pitch her tent. Chidinma raised eyebrows when her recent pictures appeared and she was with highlife singer, Flavour.
Although it was not the first time the focus of social media had been on both of them; the difference this time was hinged on people wondering if Chidinma would join her beloved colleague’s label.
The newly-released video of the Project Fame winner’s latest song seems to have confirmed the whispers in certain circles that she was planning to hook up with Flavour on the professional side of things. C h i d i n m a dropped a video for the song, “Fallen in Love” on Thursday viewers are welcomed with the logo and name of Flavour’s 2nite Music Group.
The visuals, coming on the heels of the single released days ago, depict the delectable singer as a high school student telling a love story. The song was mixed and mastered by SIMI, is currently garnering rave reviews, comes with a video shot in Soweto, South Africa. Shot by Godfather Productions, it is a departure from her previous videos shot by her former label boss, Clarence Peters.
In the new visual effort, Chidinma brings on a high school romantic setting to reflect the theme of her new song. Looking much younger than her true age with cropped hair and well-fitting school uniform, the video confirms what many thought all along.
Upon releasing the song produced by Masterkraft, Chidinma showed she is not about to derail from her style of music as well as the natural look of hers which we have all come to love as shown on the cover art.
