The presiding bishop of Destiny International Mission, Arch Bishop (Dr.) Cletus Bassey has expressed concern for the churches in Nigeria to begin to look inward and outward before taking a stand on socio-political issues of their state and the nation of Nigeria.

The man of God stated these while interacting with the new Executive and members of the Federated Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office. The God’s servant, who reacted to some erroneous stories about the roles and participation of the Church in politics, says even though some of the alleged arguments may seem to be true, the impression given by those who originated the assertion is baseless.

The media-friendly preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ, while responding to the speech of the chairman of the chapel, Comrade Nsibiet John, promised to partner with the chapel for training and retraining of its members that will be held next month April, during the Chapel’s retreat. Adding that journalism roles in society are very significant and therefore need support from the spirited individual.
