A Clerk of the National Assembly has revealed corrupt practices going on at such a highly rated green chambers of legislation in Nigeria. National Assembly is the legislative arm of government where laws governing the Nigerian state is made.

The clerk, identified as Mrs Ifeoma has condemned in totality the repeated corrupt pattern Honourable members of the Federal House of Representatives, Senate and States House of Assembly run the legislative administration in a parallel process with the office of the clerks.

9News Nigeria reports that, office of the clerk of both National Assembly and States House of Assembly is saddled with the official responsibility to oversee the workers welfare and legislative documentations and proceedings.

It is therefore inimical to a democratic state like Nigeria, where fingers are pointed of members of such an honourable achelon in a government process, representing various constituencies and and people to indulge in manipulating the entire process of governance to divert attention to their credit than the office of clerks across board.

However, certain heights of intimidation , mis -governance and laxity are sometimes caused by the management officers who resort to weakness and greed to satisfy their personal want than working for the interest of generality of the Federal and state Assembly workers.

Report has it that millions of Assembly aides attacked to the Honourable members suffer similar humiliation and stress under their bosses. Many are compelled to report untrue stories and write fragmented reports to cover up laxity, diversion of resources and under governance without speaking out their challenges.

In this case unveiled by the Madam Clerk of the National Assembly Abuja which is seriously trending and resurfaced on social media outlets, wherein Mrs Ifeoma stated openly with visible facts that Nigerian populace are sabotaged by their leaders across political offices in both the local government, states and federal level, aslo said that Nigerians always talk too much without carrying possible actions.

In her words, “we talk and will not do anything. The corruption is much and nobody can do anything. This is the system we find ourselves. House of Representatives, states Assembly and Senate are not releasing the due rights and allowances of political office work and their aides accordingly. As a clerk in the Legislative office of the Federal House of Representatives, i have observed alot of corrupt practices by Honourable members “.

“We assume that the political system will be fine to favour the masses without knowing that all the assumptions are unrealistic in such a government where due process is not followed. A government that enjoys sharp practices to increase their bank accounts against their workers placed under them. Well, I have two years to retire from service and I have to speak out and let loose my outburst on the corrupt practice going on in the Assembly.

She added, by asking how law makers at the National Assembly can be compelling clerk’s staff to write untrue stories, report unattended events that didn’t happen and was not documented. Clerk Ifeoma hinted that such a criminal act is happening in the national Assembly and some States House of Assembly unknown to the public.

Clerk ifeoma noted with regret how law makers cum legislators could be engaging consultants to write reports in place of the Legislative clerk.

In her case, clerk ifeoma stated that seeking for materials to write report by some consultant that didn’t witnesses any plenary, public hearing or conversations that took place in the Assembly is a criminal act. She alleged that such incident happened to her but she refused yielding to pressure. Meanwhile, more are still happening and the Honourables will tag it a code name suitable for press release, news report and fragmented communique.

She further alleged that law makers have kept punishing MDAs but cannot follow budget process as deemed fit by law. Rhetorically, She asked , ” what did the budget state concerning Assembly allowances and work ethics?

Allowances budgeted for Assembly staff, political aides, workers is collapsed ie diverted by government law makers for personal purposes.

“This is the first to bring to public domain the true meaning of the word “COLLAPSE” as always used by national Assembly law makers , Ifeoma frowned. Whenever you hear the lawmakers speak in the news that allowances made for Assembly workers was collapsed, the true meaning is that , money mapped out for workers welfare including office aides is diverted.

“Reason is that, Nigerian lawmakers are greedy, stingy and heartless on Assembly workers and political aides. Recall that huge money was mapped out and allotted for the payment of the allowances of Federal and State Assembly personal aides., but the political bosses COLLAPSE it to their personal pockets.

Meanwhile, this exposure of few corrupt practices bedevilling the Natl’ Assembly and some States Assembly in Nigeria including the Senate is a wake up call on law makers to improve their thinking and stop playing games with worker’s payments and allowances.

It is a crude discouragement to personnel working in government political offices across boards for not being taken proper care by their bosses including lack of health insurance, transport allowance and festive bumper packages mapped out by law.

As a matter of fact, every political Aide to law makers across the Senate, National Assembly, State House of Assembly in Nigeria are supposedly given quality welfare and be paid handsomely to carter for their respective families and pay off accumulated bills accrued by benevolence to nourish their uplines. This is because people expect a lot benevolence, helping hands from political office holders, aides and staff working in government political offices, even when such workers still earn low and most times are not paid as at when due.

It is unfortunate that common car loan or house loan cannot be given to political aides while their bosses drive horses and live large in castles like kings and queens. Government do not even think of establishing Legislative quarters across states, to house needy workers. It is important therefore , to refute and refuse falsehood , corrupt practices, collapsing of workes allowances and sponsoring untrue stories targeted at misleading and confusing the masses while the tenure lasts, Assembly clerk lambasted , Nigerian law makers.
