A 26 year old girl was tied and dumped in a shrine at udophori community by her mother and her step father yesterday.
The young lady was found by the Udophori community after enquires,they discovered that her parents lives in Bomadi so they returned her back to Bomadi where the mother and step Father of the child resides.
According to statement made by the mother of the young lady who resides in Bomadi named Opuere who also hails from Enekorah community said she is tired of treating her daughter who is now a cripple and that she and her new husband have spent thier last savings to treat the young lady until this last decision they made to dump her and allow her to die in the forest.
Supporting the story of the mother,the husband also in his words said that of a truth the child is not his and bearing such responsibility has become a burden to him so they both decided to dump their child at a sacred place in Udophori community for the girl to die.
When the father of the girl who hails from Aleibiri was called by the Bomadi community leadership to narrate his own side of the story,in his words he said “I am shocked by this incident my daughter was never born a cripple,she was with my relative in Lagos,she was in the university studying until she came visiting after graduation.
He further expressed that her conditioned changed when sometime ago she went to visit her mother and lived with her for a year. One day i got a message from my former wife that my daughter is sick when I got there I discovered she can’t work again all of a sudden.
So,I took her to different places for treatment until the my daughter said she should be taken back to her mother that she is the one that knows what happen to her.
Her continuous persistence made me to take her to the mum and her husband. I am surprise to hear this side of the story he concluded.
According to the Udophori community who found the girl in their sacred place condemn the act of the mother and her step father,that they have desecrated their land it needs cleansing. That the action is an abominable act and they should be punished .
The Bomadi community leadership have since handed the couples to the Bomadi Divisional Police headquarters.
