The Lagos State High Court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square, has sentenced Andrew Nice Ominikoron, a driver of Lagos State Bus Rapid Trust (BRT), to death by hanging for killing Bamise Ayanwola, a 22-year-old fashion designer.
Andrew Nice faced four counts of alleged rape, conspiracy with others at large and the murder of Bamise, one of his passengers, on the Lekki -Ajah Expressway on Friday February 26, 2022.
In a judgement that lasted over two and half hours, on Friday May 2, 2025, Justice Serifat Sonaike held that the prosecution, the Lagos State Government, successful proved beyond reasonable doubt that the defendant committed the offence.
The Judge held, “that for the death of Oluwabamise Ayanwola, you will be hanged by the neck until you are dead. May God have mercy upon you”
