A Federal High Court on Friday in Abuja struck out a suit filed by the Senate President Bukola Saraki challenging the jurisdiction of the decision the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, to trial for an alleged false declaration of assets.
Saraki filed the application in April after the tribunal insisted it had right to try the senate president for the alleged infraction committed when he was the governor north central state of Kwara.
In a unanimous decision, the five-man panel of justices led by Abdul Aboki ruled that Saraki’s application before the court lacked and upheld CCT’s April ruling that it had the jurisdiction to try him.
Saraki had earlier challenged the jurisdiction of the tribunal over the matter up to the Supreme Court but lost.
