Criminality and Abduction have continued to increase in Ohaji Egbema through Etukuru, Obogwe, Obosima, Avu, Ngor Okpala, Okigwe and Orlu areas of Imo State.

A call has gone to the imo state government ably led by GOVERNOR Hope Uzodinma to as a matter of urgency deploy security intelligence to Etekuru, Assah, Awara, Ohaji, Obosima, Obogwe, Avu, Ngor- Okpala, Okigwe and Orlu areas to stop the looming tension against the shared prosperity good government policies in the state.

Our correspondent reports that there has been a continued high prone of criminality, drug abuse and gangsterism in the areas mentioned above after all efforts to clamp down the trend in the Imo state failed.

The residents of the Ohaji Egbema, Obosima and Avu area are crying loud to the state government to rescue the communities out of this danger.

These criminals hide in various bushes while targeting business owners and passengers along the area, 9News Nigeria correspondent learnt.

Two sachet water drivers were allegedly robbed and beaten to near-death earlier today at gunpoint along Etekuru road.

According to the drivers who pleaded anonymity told 9News Nigeria that he was surprised to see a boy he gave drink on the same table where he supplied pure water at Etekuru area among the criminals that attacked him and robbed him of his money made from daily sales.

He further stated that the criminals are reportedly TERRORISING the area and rubbing business owners and passengers in the area.

When asked how it happened, the drivers told our correspondent that the guys he gave drink in the bar zoomed off before him and attacked him and co-driver on their way back home along the Etekuru road.

” They forced me to the bush and put gun loaded with bullets in my mouth and was ready to shoot, then I gave them all I had with me including my driver’s license, phone and money to save my life”

Similar incidents are reportedly unimaginable along Umuekwune, Ngor Okpala, Okuku area and Okigwe part of the state, our source reports.

In a related development, kidnappers are trading on regular basis and making money from the business. A few weeks ago, one chief was reportedly abducted by known kidnappers within the Obogwe area.

When contacted, He said his abductors took him off from his residence to an unknown destination where he paid 3.5m Naira to gain his freedom.

Despite the clampdown by the special anti-crime force on bandits within the Orlu area and other red points in the state, criminals are still recalcitrant to operate at red hours.

This has therefore called for immediate intervention of the security intelligence to save Imo people.
