In Ogun West, you don’t need a billboard to tell you who has been working. The roads speak. The lights at night speak. The classrooms, the health centers, the markets speak. For over twenty years, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, Yayi, has been writing his name not on posters, but on projects. As he steps forward for the 2027 Ogun State governorship race, here is a look at the legacy of delivery he brings to the table.

Across the five Local Government Areas of Ogun West, 140 new roads have been constructed, opening up communities long cut off by bad terrain. The most striking of these is the landmark 103-kilometer Ilara-Ilashe Road, a bold artery that connects 26 communities and stretches beyond Ogun West into Ogun Central and Ogun East. It is not a campaign pledge on a flyer; it is a road you can drive today, a ready-made achievement that has shortened distances and expanded trade.

That same commitment to visible impact runs through his work on power and security. Over 50,000 streetlights now illuminate streets across Ogun West, Ogun East, and key corridors in Ogun Central, bringing light where darkness once bred fear. This has been complemented by 8 new police stations commissioned to strengthen community safety and over 167 transformers distributed to power rural electrification across all three senatorial districts.

In healthcare, the footprint is just as deep. More than 60 public health and ICU centers have been built, bringing quality care closer to the doorsteps of ordinary families. This infrastructure has been matched by two major medical empowerment initiatives that delivered free consultations, treatments, drugs, and eyeglasses to over 30,000 beneficiaries who would otherwise have been left behind.

Education has received an equally transformative touch. Over 340 classroom blocks and libraries have been delivered across schools in all five LGAs and beyond, restoring dignity to learning environments. More than 5,500 undergraduates have received scholarships and bursaries to stay in school, while over 100,000 textbooks, school bags, and learning materials have been distributed to 128 schools. To prepare the next generation for the future, 11 new ICT centers have been built, giving Ogun youths a fair chance in the digital economy.

Understanding that food security is the foundation of prosperity, nearly one million bags of fertilizer, improved seedlings, tractors, and other critical farm inputs have been supplied to farmers, powering productivity across the region. For market men and women, artisans, and small business owners who drive the local economy, 38 modern markets have been constructed to boost commerce, while over 30,000 traders, artisans and youths have been trained and empowered with startup grants and trade tools, and another 70,000 have received equipment support grants to grow their businesses.

This legacy of delivery also touches community life and culture, with 14 new ultramodern town halls built to give communities befitting spaces to gather, and a state-of-the-art pavilion and event ground delivered in Ilaro, boosting tourism and community pride.

Ogun West has waited long enough for a seat at the top table, and the man asking to lead has already shown what he does with the tools of office. This is not a story of promises; it is a story of delivery.
