Dindi Ihiagwa Apex Leadership Holds Annual Conference- Calls For Peace, Reconciliation And Development

IMO: Dindi Ihiagwa Autonomous Community in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State has Concluded their year 2025 annual conference peacefully without rancour.

Dindi Community conference was held at the obi Eze of the community, HRH Eze Kingsley Ezewunwa Odu JP on Friday 26, December, 2025.

Our correspondent reports that the conference was well attended having featured huge number of crowds including critical stakeholders, council of Elders, Traditional council holders, clergy, Women executives, Youth executives, community Chairmen and secretaries.

Speaking , the Chairman Eze in council (Eze’s cabinet)- Duru Oshimiri Nze Uzoma Chibuzo Emmanuel called for peace, reconciliation and development in Dindi Autonomous community while stating the importance of according honour to the traditional stool.

Duru Oshimiri noted with dismay the height of disparity bedevilling the leadership and called for possible reconciliation to usher in needed development to prosper Dindi Community.

The Mayor of Ihiagwa and the Traditional Prime Minister (TPM) of Dindi Ihiagwa Autonomous community, Hon Rev Stanley Anyanwu who stood-in for the Traditional Ruler, reassured the Dindi people of the health condition of HRH Eze Kingsley Odu JP, stating that the Traditional Ruler is hale and hearty.

The Chairman of Eze’s -in- council -Duru Oshimiri Nze Uzoma Chibuzo Emmanuel added that Eze Kingsley Odu is alive against the speculation that the traditional ruler is dead. Duru Oshimiri hinted the participants at the conference the actual constitutional standing of the position of the Traditional Ruler as lifetime. He added that the Traditional Prime Minister of the community runs same tenure with the traditional ruler unless at the death of the Traditional Ruler, the TPM will hold brief the leadership of the community and usher in the new traditional ruler. At this point, the TPM will exit.

The palace secretary, Chief Anayo Eugene Ohakwe JP, (a retired public servant from first bank of Nigeria limited) ,some other members of the Eze in council, and stakeholders from various clans spoke in acceptance of the resolutions of the conference.

Recall that Apex Leadership in the community governs the affairs of the people of the community and issues directives in tandem with the constitutional standing and therefore avowed to establish best leadership targetted at carrying the people of the community along and to upgrade developmental strides at the grassroots.

Our correspondent reports that several reactions were made and certain resolutions were captured and referred to the conference committee for further action and possible integration, review of constitution, passage and application to salvage Dindi Ihiagwa Autonomous community.

The event was held at the Royal compound of the Traditional Ruler of Dindi Autonomous Community. The highlights of the conference was the reunion established, among Nde Dindi, traditional canon gunshots and colourful red carpet reception.

The community reinstated the position of Dindi as first in Ihiagwa on the basis that Dindi produces the larger number of Oha , the first traditional ruler of Ihiagwa in the person of late monarch Eze Ngoka hail Dindi , Dindi translates the Igbo calendar to herald the annual traditional iriji popularly known as Odu festival in the area, produces six component villages, while stating that the status quo will be implemented in every sector of administration in the broader general communal engagements in Ihiagwa.

At the time of filling this report, the health condition of the Traditional Ruler of the community, HRH Eze Kingsley Odu JP was publicly declared hale and hearty pending his comeback to the country. Until then, the appointment of Duru Oshimiri Nze Uzoma Chibuzo Emmanuel as Chairman Eze’s cabinet /Eze’s in council, re- appointment the palace secretary in the person of Chief Anayo Eugene Ohakwe and other executives will remain officially sacred as ratified by the Eze’s in council.

A unanimous vote of confidence was passed on the Traditional Ruler HRH Eze Kingsley Ezewunwa Odu JP Dindi -1 of Dindi Ihiagwa Autonomous community Agwaukwu Kingdom where several signatures and conference photos were captured and attached herein this news bulletin for confirmation as a working document
