Former senator and lawyer, Dino Melaye, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Melaye, who has long been a vocal figure in Nigeria’s political landscape, announced his decision Today, expressing disappointment with what he described as the PDP’s dwindling credibility and inability to inspire hope among Nigerians.
“I can no longer continue with a party that has consistently failed to demonstrate the courage and clarity needed to rescue Nigeria.
“The PDP has lost its direction and the trust of the people.” Melaye stated.
Following his resignation, Melaye confirmed his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a party he believes aligns more with his vision for progressive governance.
Melaye’s defection is expected to stir fresh debate within the PDP ranks and may further expose internal divisions that have plagued the party in recent years.
