Dr. Jesupelumi Adenihun’s book on Eat to Wealth’ Launches to Help Nigerians Lead Healthy Lifestyles.
Dr. Jesupelumi Adenihun’s book, Eat to Wealth, was officially launched on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Shecluded Hub in Lagos. The book launch had in attendance medical and wellness experts, health entrepreneurs, friends, and family.
The launch started with a background and brief history by Dr. Adenihun on why the book was created. She stated that the book was borne out of a need to educate people on how to maintain a proper healthy diet to prevent health issues and live a sustainable healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Jesupelumi Adenihun giving an introduction to the book Eat to Wealth
“The book was born out of a need to educate people because I realized there is a lack of information on what to eat and even when to eat. One thing I also want people to know is that there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to nutrition, it is important we understand our body type. I want us to understand that every meal we take in can draw us closer to wealthy health or poorer health. Eat to Wealth is a movement set to inform, empower, and show practical examples of how to lead a healthy lifestyle.”
Following the background introduction by the author, a panel session was hosted with the Chief Innovation Officer at Evercare Hospital, Dr. Debo Odulana, and Chief Executive Officer Ady’s Agro Processing LimitedAdanne Uche. The session was to demystify popular food myths and also discuss the importance of eating right and the right types of food to eat to achieve a sustainable healthy lifestyle.

Speaking on adequate nutrition, Debo Odulana stated that there is a need for proper nutrition education among Nigerians, “We need to use platforms to educate people on better nutrition, we need to engage with our healthcare professionals more and we need to promote more self-education, which is where primary healthcare is tending towards these days.”
Adanne Uche also highlighted the need to dispel the myth that eating healthy is expensive. “People are constantly looking for cheaper options for instance, people will buy highly infused MSG spices and red-colored palm oil as alternatives to the healthier options because they are cheaper. What they don’t understand is that when you buy healthier spices and palm oil with no additives it’s prone to last longer because you can use them in little quantities when cooking, thereby saving you money. It is also important for people to note that adopting a healthy diet is a long-term health investment.”
