At a very colorful ceremony at the Okigwe Road secretariat of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Imo State chapter, the chairman, Hon. Macdonald Kelechi Ebere, PhD, KSJI, alongside other members of the state working committee of APC, received the leadership of Agenda/ Rescue Mission Group.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Hon. Engr. Amajoyi Chukwuemeka, state chairman and leader of the delegation, described the group’s visit as a homecoming which, according to him, was predicated on the giant strides of the governor, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma in the areas of infrastructural development, urban renewal and exceptional commitment to the government policy thrust of Recovery, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation.

He further hailed the emergence of Ebere as the chairman of the party at the just concluded state congress, describing the development as a demonstration of the party’s commitment to improving its fortune through a leadership recruitment process that places premium on track record, capacity and efficiency.

According to Amajoyi, “we are the pioneer coordinators of the Rochas Okorocha’s political structure otherwise known as the Agenda/ Rescue Mission. We are dependable, trustworthy and reliable. We were formerly Okorocha’s foot soldiers, whom he used to attain political hight”.

He added, “We are Imolites, and cannot individually and collectively be associated with anything that is contrary to the interest of nde Imo. Imo people want good governance, stability and development. We have decided to join hands with our party under your leadership to amplify your grassroots’ mobilization efforts as well as to support our governor to meet the modest aspiration of Imolites”

Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Networking Hon. Chantel Ahanna discribed the group as one of the foremost political structures in the party with visible grassroots presence. She however maintained that their decision to return to the party is an eloquent testimony of the growing popularity of the APC led 3R administration in state.

The chairman of the party, Ebere in his response expressed satisfaction and excitement on the quality of people under the group who are returning to the main track of the party, while assuring them of equal opportunity and a level play ground for all to pursue and fulfill their individual aspirations in strict compliance with the provisions of the party’s constitution, described their resolve to return to the party as timely and pragmatic political decision.

The chairman in his usual charismatic disposition urged the group to join hands with other relevant stakeholders of the party in the state as well as their respective local government areas to move the party forward, assuring them of the governor’s proclivity to rewarding those who have shown loyalty, good faith and commitment to the party.

Prominent amongst the delegation were LGA coordinators which include Hon. Michael Azodo- Ideato North, Chief D. E Offor, Onuimo; Dr B.C Ogbonna, Nkwere; Hon. Chief Titus Anyanwu, Ahiazu; Hon. Ibe Akalonu, Owerri North; Kelechi Egwim, Okigwe LGA, Obikaeze Anaemem, Njaba; Anthony Ajaesowuonu, Oru West; Udechukwu U.N, Mbaitoli; Martins Onyeukwu, Owerri Municipal; Sir Ben Ebirim; Martin Mbaeri, Isu LGA; Hon Lawrence Agulanna, Owerri zonal coordinator;

Other members of the SWC in attendance were: Engr. Nze Greg Madu, State Secretary; Hon. Brandan Njenje, State Treasure; Chief Iyke Umeh, State Organizing Secretary; Hon. Mrs Ifeoma Ndukwu State Woman Leader; Cajetan Duke, State Publicity Secretary; and Hon. Pat Chikezie, Assistant State Secretary.
