Two suspected arms traffickers, identified as Sani Gesha and Mohammed Alhaji Mohammed, have been arrested in Maraba Tula, Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State.
The suspects were reportedly intercepted while traveling in a Grey Toyota Corolla with registration number Taraba JAL 475 YQ.
Security operatives recovered two Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs), an RPG launcher, and several rounds of ammunition from the vehicle.
Security sources disclosed that the Department of State Service (DSS) monitored the suspects’ movement for about three weeks before carrying out the operation.
The suspects are believed to have been involved in arms trafficking activities across Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba, and Adamawa states.
The recovered weapons were allegedly intended for delivery to one Ardo Hamma Ari, a resident of Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
