~ As State Congress Committee Urges National Leadership To Adopt Ebonyi Model Of Democracy
Governor David Nweze Umahi has congratulated the newly sworn-in Ward Executives on their successful election during the just concluded APC Ward Congress in the State.
Governor Umahi made the commendation during the inauguration of the Ward Executives of the APC and meeting with Stakeholders at the Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki on Friday.
He charged the members of the Ward Executives to brace up to the task of rebuilding the Party to reclaim its pride of place in the State, Zone and Country.
Governor Umahi also appealed to Leaders of the Party to come out en-masse to give solidarity to President Muhammadu Buhari during his working visit to Imo State on September 9, 2021.
He called on them to go back to the grassroots and mobilize support for the Party.
“If you snatch results sheet tomorrow, no matter who you are, you will be arrested and the result sheet will mean nothing.“
Governor Umahi also called on the Stakeholders and members to respect Party guidelines and act accordingly during Saturday’s Local Government Area Congresses.
Chairman of the Congress Committee for the State, Ideator C. Ideator, commended the democratic approach to the Congresses adopted by Governor Umahi, describing it as a Democracy model.
“During our report to the National body of our great party, I urged them to adopt Ebonyi model of democracy in the conduct of these Congresses.”
