Edo State Gov, locks out Deputy from entering his office

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has locked his
Deputy, Philip Shaibu from gaining access to his office at the Government House in Benin.

Shaibu went to his office on monday to find out that he gate is locked with a padlock, restraining him from gaining access.

The rift between Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu is deepening as the day goes by.

The crux of the matter, sources from Edo State said, Philip Shaibu is not Obaseki choice from the next gubernatorial election.

Shaibu has indicated strong interest to succeed his boss, but Obaseki says he was not consulted, and he is not party to the deal

Shaibu is said to have backing from the opposition party the All Progressive Congress-APC at the centre.
