Egbor/Urugbam & Ugwuellu Crisis : Urugbam Thanks Cross River Deputy Governor For Returning Peace in The Community

The people of  Urugbam community in Cross River state have thanked the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ivara Esu for settling the land dispute between them and Egbor and Ugwuellu communities which claimed many lives.

This was made known in a statement signed by their paramount chief, Onun Odumusor Onugh and  made available to 9News Nigeria correspondent.

“Your Excellency, prof. Ivara Esu
Deputy  Governor of Cross River State
Sir,

“Attempt to Undermine, Jeopardize the Commission of Enquiry proposed by the Deputy Governor of Cross River State.”

“Your Excellency, sir Urugbam people write to convey our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to your recently concluded assessment tour to Eeri in respect of the Erei crises which in no small measure has led to cease fire in the trouble communities in Erei.”

“We state here that your visit was apt, timely, articulated and a healing balm to Erei crises.”
The people of Urugbam are extremely happy and believe in the outcome of the unbiased and independent panel of enquiry.”

“Your Excellency, sir we appeal to you to use your good office to call to order chief Owali Ilem and other Erei indigenes in Calabar to stop their intimidation on Urugbam community and conspiracy meetings and prepare to face the panel of enquiry with their facts.”

“The Urugbam community is no longer believing in their numerous and unproductive and window dressing meetings that have never resolved the crises in Erei.”

“Urugbam people notice with delight and are grateful that your visit has started healing peace process in Erei crises. And will remain committed to abide and cooperate with the panel of enquiry outcome of their findings.
We sincerely appeal to you to expedite action in this regard; justice delay is justice denied.”

Also, Bishop Frank Owali a clergy  community leader of Urugbam village in Biase LGA of Cross River State equally thanked  His Excellency, Prof Ivara for his timely assessment tour of Erie in respect of the crisis  between the Erei Communities.

He therefore called for all the  parties to cooperate and  prepare for the panel with their facts. In line with the word of God as contained in Act of Apostle 9:11-14.
