A devastating fire outbreak ravaged over 300 shops at the popular Kano phone market on Friday June 6, 2025.
The fire, which lasted about six to seven hours, primarily affected the area selling mobile phones and accessories.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. The Kano State Fire service responded swiftly and managed to bring the fire under control.
The Executive Chairman of Tarauni Local Government, Ahmed Sekure, visited the scene, and expressed sympathy to affected traders, while traders are calling for immediate support from the government.
