Benin City, Edo State capital was thrown into shock following the tragic death of Success Izekor on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
The incident occurred at their residence on Upper Mission Road, where neighbors reported a history of domestic abuse.
According to a close neighbors who spoke on anonymity, Kelvin and Success got married 8 months ago.
However, reports indicate that the abuse had been ongoing even before their wedding and escalated afterwards due to Kelvin’s temper and anger issues.
One neighbor alleged that Kelvin had previously attacked his wife with cutlass, causing injuries to her hand on the evening of the incident, Kelvin allegedly took his wife’s life inside their home, locked the door, and left as though nothing had happened.
Later that night, he reportedly returned with a vehicle wrapped her body, and attempted to dispose of it.
However, a vigilant neighbor noticed his suspicious actions, raised alarm, and alerted the police. Security operatives swiftly intervened and arrested Kelvin.
A close friend of the deceased revealed that Success had earlier been warned against marrying Kelvin due to his violent tendencies.
She added that even after the abuse intensified post-marriage, friends advised Success to leave, but she chose to stay.
The police have taken Kelvin into custody as Investigation continue.
