A meeting was held yesterday Monday at the Abdulmumin Aminu Camp in Maiduguri between the management and players of El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club.
This was disclosed by Aliyu Mustapha, El-Kanemi Warriors media officer in a statement on Tuesday.
The is also following the club’s impressive win over Abia Warriors in the weekend at the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL.
At the meeting, Abine George, the stand-in captain, addressed the gathering and highlighted several challenges that the players have been facing.
He urged the management to prioritize these issues and seek urgent solutions to ensure the well-being and performance of the team.
While responding, Ibrahim Mainu Mustapha, the club chairman, expressed gratitude for the players’ efforts in the recent match against Abia Warriors.
He emphasized that every player contributed significantly to the team’s performance and highlighted the invaluable support from the club’s passionate fans.
The chairman also addressed all seven items mentioned during the meeting and assured the players that they would be taken seriously.
He said the concerns would be forwarded to the state’s commissioner for sports, Alh Sa’inna Buba, for swift intervention.
Similarly, Mr. Mainu reiterated the significant efforts made by the Borno State government in fostering the development and sustainability of the club.
He also commended the sports commissioner for his technical knowledge and understanding of what it takes to motivate and uplift players.
The chairman urged everyone to remain patience and be optimistic, assuring the players and staff that positive changes would be implemented in the shortest possible time.
He concluded by reiterating his confidence in the team’s potential, encouraging everyone to maintain their focus and dedication as they prepare for upcoming fixtures.
