Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai has been thrown into deep mourning following the passing of his beloved mother, Hajiya Umma.
Her grandson, Hon. Bello El-Rufai confirmed her death on Friday March 27, writing on Facebook: “Inna lilahi wa Inna Ilayhi raji’un. From Allah SWT we came and to Him we shall all return. My grandmother Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, passed away a few hours ago. We are grateful for the life she lives and pray for her gentle soul”

This news comes while El-Rufai is in custody.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) had arraigned him on 10-count charge including alleged conversion of public property and money laundering.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Meanwhile, a Federal High Court in Kaduna has adjourned the bail hearing to March 31.
Hajiya Umma El-Rufai is remembered as a matriarch whose life was defined by compassion, sacrifice, and devotion to her family.
